Striim joins Databricks technology partners

Striim has joined the Databricks Technology Partners Program to provide Databricks customers with access to a fully managed cloud service that can be used to connect data from databases, applications and clouds to Databricks in real time. The announcement was made at the Big Data LDN conference taking place in London today.

Striim Cloud is a fully managed software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform for real-time streaming data integration and analytics that is maintenance-free and “infinitely scalable”. Striim connects 100+ sources and destinations across private, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments.

Databricks Technology Partners Program members integrate their solutions with Databricks to add Databricks complementary capabilities for applications such as ETL, data ingestion, business intelligence, machine learning, and governance. There are over seventy existing members of the partnership program.

Founded as a company by the original developers of Apache Spark, Databricks specializes in commercial technologies that use Spark. The products included by companies in the technology partner program mean customers can leverage the Databricks Lakehouse platform and connect existing tools in validated integrations.

Striim’s integration with Databricks means organizations can combine the Databricks Lakehouse platform with Striim’s real-time streaming capabilities. Striim can be used with Databricks AI/ML to create new models based on real-time data, and these models can be used to provide faster access to more accurate business forecasts.

The managed software-as-a-service nature of Striim Cloud is described as removing the complexity of building low-latency streaming data pipelines at scale. The company says that instead of spending weeks implementing new infrastructure, global enterprises can integrate data from disparate sources with just a few clicks.

Ariel Amster, Director of Strategic Technology Partners at Databricks said:

We deliberately partner with technology providers like Striim to enable our customers to accelerate their time-to-insight via Databrick’s AI/ML solutions. We are excited to partner with Striim and offer our customers access to a fully managed cloud service to seamlessly connect data from databases, applications and disparate clouds to Databricks in real-time.”
