Ko-Wai-Koe? – Who are you?
Successful candidates will have a relevant master’s degree, preferably with a PhD, they have proven experience teaching large and small groups of students and knowledge of object-oriented programming (especially Java and C#), mobile computing (Android) and web development (HTML, CSS , Java, JavaScript, PHP and MySQL). Experience working in an international organization is essential. Knowledge of Chinese culture, experience in intercultural teaching and the ability to work with students for whom English is not their first language are important requirements.
Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role
We have the opportunity for a dedicated and motivated academic to contribute to Computer Science courses in the Bachelor of Design (Interface) and Bachelor of Design (Media) programs offered at the Joint Institute of the Design Group, the Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics.
The Bachelor of Design degrees combine highly creative design and visual communication courses with computer programming courses. The degrees were created through a unique partnership in consultation with the design industry to meet the increasing demand for design professionals who are fluent in the digital world.
The current salary range for Professional Teaching Fellows is 320,000 CNY to 455,000 CNY per year depending on qualifications, skills and experience.

We are proud of our joint institute at Zhejiang University City College, which is designated as an institute authorized to award degrees accredited in New Zealand (University of Waikato) and in China (Ministry of Education). Currently, the institute offers bachelor’s degrees in media, design and finance. All classes are conducted in English. In its fifth year of operation, the Hangzhou institute has 16 employees and 1,000 enrolled students.
